Easter Parade

When we hear the words
Easter Parade,
What do we picture?
Women in fancy hats and
Men in top hats?
Children with Easter baskets
Hunting for colored eggs across green lawns?
Better to remember
The Via Dolorosa.
Better to remember
The women
Carrying sweet spices
To the tomb of Jesus.
Better to remember
Peter and John
In a foot race to the tomb.
Best to walk ourselves into
An Easter morning worship.

As Christians, we must do everthing we can to reclaim our holy-days (that's the root word from holiday which to me makes it ironic that "merry Christmas" is unacceptable but "happy holidays" is okay--back on track now).

Christmas and Easter are two wonderful opportunities to celebrate our Savior, and Satan has done everything that he can to steal the limelight.

We have to consciously celebrate the Christian meaning of Easter.

Thanks for adding this in the Carnival of Christian Women.
